Analysis: Budinger likely remains a month or more from playing in games after offseason surgery to remove a portion of the meniscus in his knee. Budinger was doing some individual shooting drills after practice on Monday. He says he's not putting a specific timetable on his return, only that he's taking things "week by week."

Analysis: The Wolves made the announcement on Tuesday that Budinger had a procedure on his left meniscus. Budinger had a similar injury last season that caused him to miss more than four months. Last year, Budinger had his torn meniscus repaired in surgery. This time around, Budinger had the damaged portion removed by Dr. James Andrews. The Wolves and their medical staff took a different course this time in hopes of reducing the recovery time and the risk of re-injury.

Analysis: Budinger averaged 9.4 points and shot 32 percent from 3-point range in 23 games last season. He missed much of the season with a knee injury, but Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman and new President Flip Saunders made getting Budinger back to Minnesota one of the team's top priorities.
