Analysis: Saunders went 0 for 4 in his return to the lineup Saturday after sitting out the previous four games. He underwent knee surgery in spring training to repair a torn meniscus and didn't make his debut until April 25. He had a cortisone shot and had fluid drained from his knee Monday.

General manager Alex Anthopoulos said Thursday surgery is likely but Saunders will seek a second opinion.
Analysis: The 28-year-old player was acquired by the Blue Jays in December from Seattle for pitcher J.A. Happ and was projected to be a starter. Saunders hit .273 with eight home runs and 34 RBIs in 78 games with the Mariners last season. Anthopoulos said the team will look internally for a replacement but is open to a trade or free-agent signing.
