Analysis: The right-hander is 2-7 with a 9.45 ERA in 13 games - 11 starts - this season.
June 9 10:17 AM PT11:17 AM MT12:17 PM CT1:17 PM ET13:17 ET17:17 GMT1:17 10:17 AM MST12:17 PM EST12:47 PM VEN21:17 UAE12:17 PM CT-Simon walked a season-high five, allowing six runs and seven hits in five innings of the Reds' 12-7 loss to the Cardinals on Wednesday.
Analysis: Simon's ERA is now a major-league worst 9.11, and the Reds should be in an emergency to get him out of their rotation. He can't pitch at home or on the road and can't get righties or lefties out, leaving few things he can contribute to a major league organization other than providing the fans in the outfield seats with 14 free souvenirs thus far in 2016.

Analysis: Plate umpire James Hoye threw Simon out of the game immediately after Anderson, a right-hander, got plunked in the left shoulder leading off the fifth. An inning earlier, Anderson had hit Simon with a pitch with two outs, a sequence that thwarted Tyler Holt's potential steal of home with the Reds trailing by a run.

Analysis: Simon, making his first start since getting only two outs in the shortest start of his career at Chicago on April 13, pitched 2 2/3 innings. Simon, who missed his start on Tuesday with right biceps tendinitis, allowed nine hits and eight runs with one walk and three strikeouts. He actually lowered his ERA against Chicago from 67.16 to 35.14 despite this mauling.

Analysis: As part of the March 17 agreement, the 34-year-old right-hander would earn $300,000 apiece for 100 innings and each additional 15 through 160.
