He also took part in an offseason practice session in which he wore a large black brace and ran drills with other teammates recovering from injuries. He remains confident will be play in that season opener on Sept. 9. |

Once Griffin does come back, Shanahan says the young quarterback needs to learn to slide and throw the ball away to avoid the big hits that lead to injuries. |
